Proposal
For this project we are tasked with building people’s awareness of Borderfields brand and their products such as their cold pressed rapeseed oil, we are to do this in a unique and eye catching way. The aims of this project are;
- Be creative and imaginative
- Capture the essence of the brand (eg. Quality, health, food, farming etc.)
- Educate people on why they should use their products
- Target audience is aimed at women aged 30+, interested in cooking, health conscious, food bloggers etc.
- Mix of indoor and outdoor are encouraged to provide a variety of scenes.
For my images I plan to try and incorporate most if not all of these aims in a cinematic approach using techniques such as compositing and use of various depth of field to create unique looking images that hopefully will fulfil what Borderfield want.
For my images I will try and focus on the health benefits of the oils by showing people exercising and exercise equipment in my images, however I will have the oils be the main focal point as I plan on having the exercise related parts be in the background while the oils take the foreground.
The main issue that I may face is the target audience as I have little to no experience with this audience, however I do not see this as a challenge rather a learning experience in order to be able to produce images for this audience if it crops up in the future. I will research into this target audience to see what the main likes and dislikes are in order to produce more suitable images rather than guess at what they want.
For outdoor shots I plan on using a field environment preferably one that is used for farming, as when I will be taking my images rapeseed oil will not be in season this means that I won’t be able to shoot at a field that has rapeseed so I plan on using a muddy field in order to emphasise the health benefits as I will be relating it to food such as vegetables which are grown in field like this, I also plan on using bright colours to offset the more dull brown colour of the field I will do this with flowers and other such plants being used in the background.
A main drawback of using a location like this is weather such as rain would make the field unusable due to the conditions it makes the mud and dirt, this could also make it unusable for the next few days as well, so looking up weather forecasts will be key on getting my timing right for these types of locations.
Indoor shots should be easier to do as weather is not an issue and in some cases can enhance the shot if there is a window in the frame.
